Election Day Schema 🕯️
I wrote this in my journal this morning; then, I thought, maybe you'd like to read it, too.
Remember to make tea in the big mug today.
Remember to take lots of deep breaths.
Remember that, whatever happens, the cat will still scream for breakfast tomorrow.
Remember that all options cause strife.
Remember—the best balm for a hurting world is kindness.
Remember you will die.
Remember that community is still worth building.
Remember light filtering through yellow leaves in West Philly this weekend.
Remember that it is no measure of good health to be well-adjusted to a sick society.
Remember to get dressed.
Remember to vote.
Remember how change happens at the local level.
Remember that Source is revealing her plan.
Remember—you are not singularly responsible for hardly anything.
Remember that election fundraising emails capitalize on your fear.
Remember how much easier it is to be a pawn for the world if your nervous system is dysregulated.
Remember, not everyone agrees with you, not even here.
Remember today so you can tell your grandchildren.
Remember today so you can catalogue what's changed.
Remember to leave yourself directions in the wilderness.
Remember, we are here but for a moment in the grand order of things.
Remember to tend your own garden. This one, here. Now.
Remember that it can all fall apart—slowly, and then in the blink of an eye / with the crash of a wave / with the crack of a thunderous cloud.
